In response to a question from teacher Desmond O'Neil I put together this helicopter model to show belts and gears in action.
A belt connection links the motor and the main rotor pulleys with a reduction in rotational speed.
The main and tail rotors in a helicopter are at right angles and in real life can be linked using a twisted belt but Creo Parametric doesn't allow this. However, a PTC Creo gear connection will work and links them in the model with a gear ratio that makes the tail rotor spin faster.
The model also demonstrates the Freestyle tools applied to the fuselage.
