Help with Identifying Model Materials in Onshape

Good morning,

Our school robotics team is currently participating in the FTC competition, and we’re in the process of organizing all the models in Onshape. The "FIRST team" kindly shared a file with us, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to identify the material of the parts used in the model.

If someone could assist me with this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

Here is a blog article that has been created for First robotics teams that will help you set everything up for the team in Onshape:

You may also find really helpful this robotics curriculum that all the team members should complete:

Hi.

Google ... onshape material assign to model

Hi Martin,

That is the way to assign materials, but in the private case of the FTC parts library, the parts already have all the material properties added to them so the resulting total mass of the robot will be accurate. That is why I assumed they are looking for materials on how to use the parts and not the material that the parts are made of, as that information is easy to find on the producer site (as the FTC parts are purchases).
