I recently downloaded my school's version of ProE to my laptop. When I start the program the main menu of proE is displayed but I have an warning message that reads:
Warning Message List
License Request failed for feature
Requesting PROE_Schools...
C:\Program Files\Creo Elements\Pro Schools Edition\text\licensing\lisence.data (-2) Invalid license file syntax
When I click ok it just closes itself out and I am unable to use ProE. What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?? thanks!
You need to be connected to your schools license server in order for it to work.
How do I connect to to my schools lisence server? And what about the part that is asking about the invalid licence file syntax?
Try to contact with PTC's tech support by fill the form "PTC Academic Support Request Form", here:

Hi Nathaniel,
The schools edition is a standalone edition and would not connect to any license server for a license. The issue you are having is related to the license file.
Can you send me the license file - C:\Program Files\Creo Elements\Pro Schools Edition\text\licensing\lisence.data?
My email address is -.
Thanks,
Mark
I have recently have not been able to start Creo2 Academic Version on my home computer it has been working fine up until this point.I now get a warning message box appearing on startup. Saying licence request failed for feature. I am not sure if this is the result of me changing to a different router and the installation different wireless card on the computer being used can you give me any help on this please.
Licenses last 2 years and you can request a new network product code for Creo 2 on the Academic Support web site here: On the form make sure you provide full details of the school plus the name and email address of the accredted teacher.
Thanks for your help Tim much appreciated I will do as you suggest.
