Problems with FloEFD
Hi all,
After trying to install FloEFD pro the documentation, liscense manager, tools and uninstall icon will load onto the computer but FloEFD won't. I was wondering if anyone else has been having this problem or if anyone has discovered how to fix this problem.
Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,
Can you please uninstall FloEFD and restart the installation process?
Have you received a license from Mentor Graphics?
Have you installed Creo Elements/Pro (formerly Pro/ENGINEER) prior to installing FloEFD?
Thanks,
Mark

Why do you believe that it is to working?
Are you missing the Flow Analysis menu in Pro/E?
Thanks,

Through the start up menu you can see all of the support files for FloEFD. However, the program itself is not their. I have tried everything I can think of. I believe that restrictions on my schools computers may be to blame. I am attempting now to see if installing the programs on my personal laptop will solve this problem.

Thanks Nick.
Please try it on anohter machine. This is strange why the items are missing.
Where you logged in as an admin during the installation?
Is this a 64-bit machine? If so, have you checked the two program files folders - c:\program files (x86) and c:\program files?
Thanks,
Mark

The computer is running a 32-bit operating system. We are now waiting for our school technology specialist to have available time to logon as an administrator and help us install the FloEFD. Tonight i will be attempting to install both ProE and FloEFD on my laptop tonight and I will let you know how it works or if i have any more problems.

FloEFD failed on my home laptop as well. Could it be a bad license file or serial number?

Hi Nick,
I have sent an email to Mentor graphics to assist you. They will be following up with you. I am thinking that it might be a license issue.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
My students are also having a problem getting FloEFD to work. After installation, the *.exe file does not show up in the Start Menu for FloEFD. Tried installation on two 64-bit machines with the same configurations and still did not work.

HI Katrina,
Are you running the Student Edition?
You will be utilizing FloEFD from within Creo Elements/pro. To enable it to work within Creo Elements/pro, I suggest watching the additional configuration video.

Similar to Katrina, the FloEFD application is not showing up in my start menu (see image below). Following the tutorials for when I try to link Pro-E to FloEFD, I do not see the protk.dat file on my C drive. Could this be because I am running "Cre Elements/Pro 5.0 Schools Edition?"
Thanks,

John,
Have you watched the Additional Configurations requirements for Creo Elements/Pro mentioned in Mark's post above? This will show you how to configure FloEFD to run in Creo Elements/Pro.

Adam
