Student License Problem Creo 7

Hey everyone,

I have a problem, when I try to activate my student license for Creo 7.

The setup finds the student license but says the licensing file is invalid. Any ideas?

Update:

I got the  License to work, but still have a Problem.

Now it says: License request failed for feature Invalid feature name: [Feature_Name]

I tried solutions from other posts (editing the startup file) but it does not work.

It seems to have worked, but now it says that my feature has expired.

Any Ideas for that? It also tells me it could not find the AFX and IFX.

Hi,

feature has expired means that your license does not work anymore. PTC generates license valid for 1 year only - look into license file, you will find end date of your license in it.

You must:

  • delete license file located in C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing directory
  • run reconfigure from Parametric\bin subdirectory to get new license

You can also ask to send new license via email - see my previous reply.

Hi,

I guess your license file is empty, this means it is invalid.

Please contact academicsupport@ptc.com. You need to send them the Host ID (Mac address of the ethernet) and also the product code used. I hope they will send you valid license file.

Hi, Thank you!

Do you also have an Idea for my second Problem?

Hi,

if you have valid license file then:

1.] open valid license file in Notepad

2.] go to Creo installation into Parametric\bin sub directory and open parametric.psf in Notepad

3.] modify parametric.psf

ENV=PTC_D_LICENSE_FILE-=here_put_full_path_to_license_file

ENV=CREOPMA_FEATURE_NAME=CREOPMA_xxx ()

CREOPMA_xxx ... look into your license file ... here you will find the real license name starting with CREOPMA_

4.] save parametric.psf

5.] start Creo
