Tetrix Treads

Hello,

We are a rookie team and are watching the Robotalk series and have learned much. We are wondering if anyone knows where we can find tread parts to use in Creo. We found one tutorial and it seems to be very thorough but we can’t find the parts for the treads to try out the tutorial instructions. We were also wondering where we can find other tutorials working with treads. Thank you.

There are tread parts in the FTC - Textrix Kit of Parts found at http://www.ptc.com/go/firstkop. The assembly of one section of tread is named tetrix_736468_tt_2012.asm.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but especially as a rookie team, I might suggest that you simply create a single part that represents your track rather than actually assemble the whole thing. The full assembly uses a lot of connections and can lead to a model that is difficult to work with on slower computers. A single part that represents the track (rectangle swept along the path of the track) is a lot faster and may provide all you need for your design representation.
