The setup.exe installer won´t launch on windows 11

When I try to launch CREO the installer via setup.exe, a loading symbol occurs and then nothing happens (the pragram exits, no running task in taskmanager). Happens with CREO 9.0.0.0, 8.0.4.0 and 7.0.8.0 on two Devices (Desktop running Ryzen 5 5th Gen and RX6600 XT, Surface Pro 7 with i7 and 16GB RAM), both running Windows 11.

I had the exact same problem as you. I also tried CREO 9.0.0.0 and 8.0.4.0 and nothing happened when clicking setup.exe. And if you open Windows Events Viewer, there will be a baselibmt.dll fault. There was a popular solution in the forum before, but it didn't work for me, maybe you can refer to it——Solved: running setup.exe does nothing - Creo 8.0 - PTC Community

I solved the problem by doing this:

DO NOT download MED in Academic Free Page . And my friend sent me an ISO installer for CREO 9.0.1.0 by USB flash disk and the setup.exe in it works very well. The academic license is also valid by using the same code as CREO 9.0.0.0

Maybe, I think there are some bugs in the earlier version of setup.exe. Looking forward to the official analysis of the detailed reasons and give a reply.

Where to download it then?

Hi,

did you follow this procedure ?

  • download 5GB zip file
  • unzip file
  • run setup.exe as Administrator

Suggestion; Search for error message in Event Viewer.

Martin Hanák

Yes I did follow the procedure.

Hi,

please search for error message in Event Viewer.
