I have the academic version provided for FIRST mentors. Does this happen every year, or is this a windows 10 issue?

robert helber, not sure if it was the update to Win10 or possibly the age of your license. The Schools license is good for one year. If you open the license file, you will be able to see the date it is valid until. In this case, I would suggest requesting Creo again, and generating a new license file. Didn't work for me.
I performed the procedure in the pdf file. We are trying to run Creo 3 M070.
