exporting x,y,z coordinates from pro e

We are trying to export x, y, z coordinates from pro e (wildfire 4.0, School Edition) to use in the Cessna Analysis Program. We searched the help center for pro e and found a suggested technique, we tried it and ran into problems. This is what we did: 1) save our drawing as a IGES file, select Datum Curves and Point only 2) from the command window we renamed the file from iges to pts 3) open a new part page 4) Insert> Model Datum > Point > Offset Coordinate System ... the offset CSys opens 5) change type to Cartesian 6) Click import, open the pts file 7) close information window and click save 😎 save file as a pts, x, y, z data will be in the file Step 6 is where we run into problems. The program will not open the pts file, it tries but no points are imported. Any ideas. Hutchinson Minnesota team

Hi Daryl, PTC will be providing an automated tool for Pro/E that would output the coordinates. I expect to provide that to the teams shortly with instructions. Thanks, Mark

Has anyone solved this problem yet? How soon can we get the tool that will do this?

Wow, this is still a problem in Creo 2.0?

Now that the data doctor is in place, the knowledgebase WF5.0 method no longer works after importing the iges file because the "edit definition" opens the data doctor instead.

Can someone show a reliable guide as to how to create a string of points along a 3D curve based on said curve?
