I have started using 3-d surface graphics. Could somebody explain me how lighting works?. I'd like to understand especially how the light direction works. i.e. which the system of coordinates used when light direction is set.
Lighting in the 3D graphs, works as though there were spotlights coming from the different corners of the graphs. The lighting tab in the 3D graph formatting dialog shows you the options you have for ambient, diffuse, or directed light. The best way to understand how lighting works is to start with a graph, then change the lighting to show the different affects. You can see some examples in the 3D graph tutorial section or in the QuickSheets, Graphic Gallery.
