Difficulty downloading Mathcad add-ons

Lately I've been playing around with addons of various software products to see if they could help with integrating reoccurring design tasks across software products that do calculations, technical drawing, and finite element modelling, and building information management (BIM)

Looking at the webpage https://support.ptc.com/support/mathcad_downloads.htm there are links for a number of addons. In particular I'm interested in the 3rd, 4th, and 8th items labelled "PTC Mathcad Add-in for Microsoft Excel", "PTC Matchcad/AutoCad Integration", and "PTC Mathcad/Revit Integration". When I click on any of those links, I get a "Document Not Found" page. The instructions it gives are not helpful:

"Please try one of the following methods to locate your document:

  • Click on your browser's BACK button to return to your previous page.
  • Select a section from the top navigation bar.
  • Use the search tool located at the top right of this page."

My questions are:

How are those add-ons accessed by anybody?

Or, is there some other work around that I'm missing?

PTC sure is a company where you have to be lucky if you don't have to deal with them.

Since they bought Mathcad they ruined nearly everything.

Adeptscience (Alfasoft) used to be a good place to still download Add.Ons, demo worksheets, etc. since PTC has ruined the forum and the websites they used to be. But I just looked and alfasoft seemed to have reorganized their site and I could not find the download page for free additional material I was used to

But you are lucky as Hearne still offers all those downloads here:

https://www.hearne.software/Software/Mathcad-Prime/Editions

Click on "More resources".

I see a number of possible reasons, all are typical PTC:

1. You have to be on active maintenance (paying the yearly fee) to be allowed access.

2. The website was ruined. It still exists but nobody knows where.

3. Usage of (real) Mathcad is discouraged in favor of Prime, no need to supply the add-ons for Mathcad anymore.

4. These add-ons work with applications that are not PTC software, no need to support that.

5. These add-ons work (only) with (old versions of) applications that are outdated, no need to support that.

You could try to contact PTC 'customer support'; but given their track record, don't expect much.

I'm sorry I did not download these add-ons when they were still available.

Maybe someone else has them and is willing to send them to you?

Success!

Thanks, that satisfies my curiosity. I just want to note for anybody else who is searching the forum and finds this, especially if these all end up behind a pay wall, that these add-ons aren't very good. The Revit and Autocad add-ons are examples of API programming - macros or custom DLL files. They don't provide new general functionality, just specific examples of functionality that is already there, which might provide an example of template for making your own. The Excel add-on has a broken installer that looks for "Mathcad 2000 or later", and doesn't recognize that I have Mathcad 14, Mathcad 15, and Mathcad Prime 5 all installed. Maybe this one is just outdated, but there is already a variety of built-in ways to insert Excel objects into, say, Mathcad 15, through the Insert menu, so it is unclear to me what functionality would be added. In another thread somebody mentioned using the add-on for inserting 3D graphs from Excel. For me, that isn't really functionality worth more time troubleshooting this.
