We were asked to determine whether changing the puck for indoor roller hockey from a rubber puck to a ball-bearing puck be likely to increase the speed of the game? Why is it so?

Friction and hockey pucks

What would be the effect of replacing a rubber puck with a ball bearing puck? What would that do to the game?

Re: Friction and hockey pucks

Because the puck would move faster so the player would have to skate faster to catch up or stand around waiting for the puck they cant catch comes back to them. Could slow the game down.
