Iteration of one parameter

Hi,

I have a problem. I need to optimize one parameter in a PDEsolve block. The model curve should look like my experimental data. The model curve is determined with PDE with parameters. I need only one parameter to change to get the fit. The fit should be defined by a minimum standard deviation. When I define the parameter with variable is it possible to calculate the PDE until the standard deviation is minimized(or smallest)?

Any answer will be appreciate...

Thanks

Kviko

Given. Given! Given?

See one solution this problem for the odesolve-function (Tip # 133 from the book "Tips for Mathcad Users":

I think you can try to use this trik for the pdesolve-function too.

I thik (and have talk to Moathsoft) that the keyword Given is a bad solution - we cannot use odesolve, pdesolve, find, ErrMin in programs 😞
