The purpose of this worksheet is to make a budget-level estimate of the annual cost for pumping water with one pump. The pump in question can be a well pump or a booster pump. Units for estimating gross water production are commonly acre-feet per year for well pumps and million gallons per day for booster pumps, but other units can certainly be used. All of the data used are nominal or average values, as is appropriate for budget-level estimating. In reality, the pump will operate over a range of Q–H values and efficiencies. Gross water production and electrical power costs are also subject to variation.
