Solve block problem - 5 eqn & 5 unknowns --> 3 zeros

What does having three zeros ans a solution to a problem with five equations and five unknowns.

Is this problem really divergent?  These are measured spring stiffness values by a series of tests so that tweaking the values is completely acceptable within reasonable bounds.

Than you,

Eric

If you add the keywords "fully" and "simplify" you get a 5 element vector:

This means you can take any values for K.s1 and K.s2 but the other three variables have to be zero.

Thats interesting, as it would mean a lot of divisions by zero.

I guess thios means that you should have another look at your equations - looks like something is wrong here.

Thank you.  Is there a way to specify a tolerance?  Instead of setting the left side equal to the right side, can I somehow specify +/-10% or something like that?

I will check my equations again, but that will be my 10th time if not more.

Thank you,

Eric

No, there is no way to specify a tolerance.

Use the symbolic processor to do the checking. It can tell you a lot. See the attached worksheet.
