Re: Why Mathcad Prime 3.1 gives the wrong answer?

Here's another "nice" effect (symbolic eval not done inline but in a separate region):

Re: Why Mathcad Prime 3.1 gives the wrong answer?

And here the "workaround".

At least we see the correct result - valid for .... x in R or not ???? Crazy!

OK, lets Prime grow up the next decades and go back to Mathcad 15 for serious work.

Of course you are right - going back to (better: staying at) MC15 is just an interim solution until switching to some other software.

Prime and unfortunately also Mathcad both are dead ends.

Re: Why Mathcad Prime 3.1 gives the wrong answer?

However, Prime is not completely hopeless. We can use the general solution to get a particular solution.

Re: Why Mathcad Prime 3.1 gives the wrong answer?

Clever, but nonetheless you had found a bug in Prime.

I was surprised to see that the symbolics reacts differently in Prime than in MC15 as I thought nothing was changed here during "development" (can we really call it that?) of Prime. Obviously they managed to break some parts there, too.

Feel free to call, what they do with Prime, software development - I can't.

You already posted that and I can use Google translate. Therefore my answer above.

You don't have to be an engineer being able to build a var from scratch just to be allowed to criticize a company delivering broken cars 😉
