sorting complex numbers

After today's post about complex numbers, I looked in M' Help, and did not see complex numbers treated in Help under sort().

My "license" has expired and I can't test anything...

How would you expect to sort complex numbers?

I don't 😉 My comment was just about what I expected to find in M' Help. I think that some nice discussion regarding the sorting of complex numbers is taking place in another thread, though. I think that PTC might benefit from looking at the discussion.

Thanks. That makes some sense, I suppose, as the comment is relevant to sort order. Then will Help also address comparisons of complex numbers in relevant sections for Boolean tests and so on?

Easily remedied - just make up-to-date betas available 😉

I'd like to see the sort amended to include the imaginary part.

In addition, I would prefer a stable sort by default, such as mergesort, and even the ability for the user to give an ordering function for the sort.

See worksheet http://collab.mathsoft.com/upload/demo%20-%20complex%20sort%2001.mcd

Would that make it a gamma release?
