While Windchill starts, it can take 3-7 minutes to get beyond the Error 503 - Service Unavailable message in the browser, but it also can take up to 10 minutes.
We recommend closing the web browser and allowing the process to complete. (This wait time is usually a good time to read through the first pages of the class guidebook.)
Infrequently, Windchill services will fail to start. It may continuously loop around the command prompt window. Do not select/highlight anything in the window to allow the process to continue.
If it seems to be taking a long time, here are a few troubleshooting options:
Option A: Restart your virtual machine session
Note: This option will cause you to lose any work in progress.
- In the virtual machine toolbar, go to Profile > End Session.
- Relaunch the virtual machine using the same instructions as before.
Option B: Restart Windchill
- From the virtual machine desktop, launch the Windchill Shell.
- At the prompt, type windchill stop.
- Press Enter.
- After you receive confirmation that Windchill has closed the connection, type windchill start.
- Press Enter.
