Search the forum for IDD (Import Data Doctor). There are several hits to this topic.
Important to consider is whether you are already on WF4 or not. IDD in WF4 is completely different compared to the former releases. It is supposed to be more powerfull, although I didn't always succeeded to get things done.
Healing geometry is something not straight forward, you not a lot of practice to be successful. The first thing is to avoid conflicts as much as possible, by aligning the absolute accuracy with the source system.
