I just found out that my company has a license for NC Sheetmetal and I would like to utilize it for nesting flat patterns in an attempt to maximize material/minimize scrap. I wanted to see if anyone could point me to a tutorial or recommend a book that would help me get up to speed wit this module? I checked the PTC learning materials and it appears that there is no training for NC Sheetmetal (only the Sheetmetal design module).
Hy tractor,
PTC don't have updating the NC Sheetmetal material since years (release 2001 I think). So if you found some material is about thes 2001. I've tried NC Sheetmetal some years ago and it works fine.
My problem is that I can't find any training material at all on NC Sheetmetal. I came across this: http://www.datajett.com/Cadd/ProE/Wildfire_Help/pro_nc_sheetmetal.pdf but it appears to be a reference for someone who already understands the program. Also, I found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hj9CzpqnIDk but it is just a demo and is lacking enough detail to be useful (also my computer doesn't have sound). I'm looking for a tutorial that will walk me through two topics:
1. Setting up the basica parameters of the machines that we will be using (laser cutter, press, etc.).
2. Opening an existing sheetmetal part and nesting it.
If someone has a PDF file or something that would walk me through these steps I would really appreciate it.
NC Sheet Metal should have the same current layout, we are already in Creo 4 and the module remains the same since 2001. NC Sheetmetal is a great tool and should not be abandoned.
