Well, I had allot of responses and most people feel the same way I do. What can we do? Well read below and see what you guys think. Looks like some good ideas and some good tips. There is one future site that I think can be the difference. http://www.ptclink.com It's not finished yet, but it's coming and it looks like we may get a voice after all. We Administrators need to stick together and educate the masses on what we do and what value we bring.
We don't belong in IT and MCAD Administrator has nothing to do with IT. Can a IT person support the users with training? NO Can a IT person teach best practices to the users? NO Can a IT person consult on how to harness the power of Pro/E? NO Can a IT person claim he is a Pro/E Guru/Super User? NO Can a IT person actually install, manage and configure Pro/E licenses? maybe Can a IT person automate Pro/E and write custom scripts? NO
