ATI FirePro M7820 + CreoEP 5

ATI FirePro M7820 + CreoEP 5

We have some users from another division who are using dell M6500
laptops with ATI FirePro M7820 cards (Windows 7 + Creo EP 5.0 M140 -
M150).

They have major performance problems when zooming in drawing mode.

Even with a very simple part in the drawing if you zoom in it hits a
point where proe gets terribly sluggish.

It is a really annoying problem when placing dimensions or other actions
where you need to zoom in for selection...

When working in model mode, even in the sketcher performance is good, it
seems drawing related.

Anyone else have experience with this problem or with these cards?

Or suggestions to try and resolve this?

Thanks,

Frederic

Frederick,

I would first suggest you try a different graphics driver. You should be
able to get an ISV driver from DELL.

Don't know those cards specifically, but enough years in the CAD admin
world I always go with NVidia whenever I can. Used to be a huge
difference in driver quality between NVidia and ATI, not so sure
anymore, but...
