AW: How to constrain a part with contact connection ?
Solution: 1. No symmetry possible, that would be the best ... 2. A set of springs to ground is a solution, minimum 3 around the axis of the bolt. 3. A set of beams to a constrained point (all 6 fixed), min 3 around ... ) works too. The main problem is now a good mesh for contact ... The solution for the pressed bolt: no automatic connections (otherwise the contact is connected too !!! - why ???) The load from the pressed seat is realized from a pressure in the hole and pressure on the bold in the contact region. (Works better than the geometric solution) The result seams to be o.K. Regards

Simplified situation: a plate with a hole, constrained in x y z a bolt with contact in the hole a simple load, maybe on top surface of the bolt. The hole is smaller than the bolt (pressed in) Analysis with thermal load is insufficient constrained. OK. No friction ...
I tried to fix the bolt with a spring longitudinal and rotational , but wrong results. I tried with beams too, but wrong results ...
I tried to constrain the top surface of the bolt with a circular coord in theta, but wrong too (no displacement of that surface in generally) Is it a bug?
Only one way with tongue and groove. There has to be a better way !!! (?) What is your work around?
