I have been playing with making accurate threads using helical sweeps. I have played with a few ways to do this. I'm pretty sure that the sketched line needs to be done on the pitch diameter. The cross section is where I believe the real work is. I have tried some differen things and some are pretty close but man did I get some crazy geometry. Once I get the correct setup I will build it into a udf. I think that somewhere I have a udf for a pipe thread that was sent to me some time ago.
