Based on a given parameter designated within the symbol, the symbol would update the groupings selected.
Biggest use case I foresee is dealing with symbols placed in a precise location based on drawing size. We have one symbol with predefined locations based off the drawing 0,0 location. Rather than relying on the person to place the symbol correctly each time, they just have to place it at the 0,0 location and the grouping allows them to pick the page size. Yes we have it on the template, but if anyone has to place it or change it, the symbol will control the text locations accurately.
We also have export control data that we store in parameters but then have to manually update the symbol to get the correct information and layout per that Export control determination. With one value you might need more or different text.
You might also want a different graphic based on lifecycle state. For a draft state maybe it would say Not Released, but for release you might want some form of date stamp.
As industries move more and more into data-centric position the data (parameters) will be more important and less time will want to be spent updating the visuals of that data.
