Flat Wall Relief?

Having a Sheetmetal moment here.

cid:image001.png@01CF48C4.574F2BF0

This is a simple Flat Wall sketched onto a rectangular sheet. It is a 45
degree flange that is also tapered or mitered to form a chamfered box (along
with its three siblings).

The Shape is Sketched.

Why does it insist on creating that little notch? It doesn't matter which
Relief I select, this will not go away. Using WF4, but the issue also
exists in Creo 2 (ie, redefine does not remove the notch).

It seems to be related to the steps the designer took while redefining the
default flat wall sketch to the User Defined sketch seen above.some of the
original Sketcher References were deleted. Recreating the feature while
taking care not to remove the default Sketcher References results in a new
wall without the notch.

Thanks in advance,

In the third image it looks like a horizontal reference is slightly below the existing geometry. This could start the taper just below the corner rather than right on the corner.

Sharp eye you have there Dave, but that is because we are sketching the flat
wall on the FAR edge of the first wall which is tilted away from your eye by
45 degrees. The near edge is then higher...

If the sketch was to the higher edge, the software would have to extend the short edge surface to meet it. Since it is on the lower edge, I expect a similar change is happening, which is what creates the notch.

If there was vertical segment to the sketch that placed the angled edge entirely above the part you would also notget the notch.
