How to permanently align and mate parts

Using Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express, is it possible to make mates and aligns permanent? I first aligned an axis and then tried to make two faces parallel but the axis alignment gets changed.

Hello, kind of ...

If you remain working in the position command you can align the axis first (using "align Axis" in the options) and then select directly "mate" or "align" within this command sequence. Do not OK between Align Axis and Align/Mate. Modeling keeps a temporary constrain.

This can also lead to errors when you try to overconstrain this sequence.

second - if you really want to maintain those relations, like aligned axis or mate or parallel or Rigid or .... then it would be possible by using the professional version with Advanced Design Module - Relation ... this would enable you to create a whole set of relations between parts based on values or calculations .... help.png

cheers
