Parameters: New type (choose from list)

Parameters: New type (choose from list)

When we create a feature parameter now, we have the option of defining the parameter type as Real Number, Integer, String, Yes/No, or Note. I would like to have a new type of parameter where you have a finite choice of options, with one option being the default (and that default being configurable in the configuration file). This is the same idea you see in Excel spreadsheets with the "Drop-Down List" function.

I realize that by defining the parameter type to be STRING type (for example), providing a default value and then allowing the person to manually key in a different value is possible now, but if there was a limited set of valid options that is easily & quickly modifed to an acceptable option, then then would help to promote consistency and would be more efficient.

Doesn't this capability already exist with "restricted value parameters"?  See CS51011.  https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS51011

It does, but it's very "old school" and difficult for casual users to master.  They syntax can be very tricky.  Maybe the idea should be changed to say "allow multi-valued parameters to be created and edited directly from Creo without needing to manually edit a text file and re-launch Creo after each change."
