Thanks to all that replied. It seems that the 64-bit version of Pro/E doesn't use multiple processors any better than the 32-bit version.
Does anyone know if Pro/E is capable of multi-threading in the 64-bit Windows version of Wildfire 2.0?
For the most part, the answer is no (certain obscure functions can - such as multi objective design studies in behavioral modeling with distributed computing). Still the same as the 32-Bit version and previous releases of Pro/E ...
Google the term "CPUS_TO_USE".
We don't deploy workstations with multiple CPUs because there is no net benefit to the performance Pro/E. That includes "dual core" technology and hyper-threading (they don't improve benchmark run times) ...
If you're running multiple intensive applications (along with Pro/E) or applications that can multi-thread then that's another story.
