SUMMARY Re: Draft Split at Datum Curve

SUMMARY Re: Draft Split at Datum Curve

Thank you to all who responded. It appears that my problem was that I
drew my datum curve down the center of my part instead of on the actual
surface being drafted.

Draft curve needs to be on the actual surface being drafted. So you
will need to have one curve and draft one side, then create a curve on
the other side, I would recommend using "use edge" in sketcher for the
draft curve profile on side 2. Or try to mirror it. Each boss will
also need to have it's own curve.

That did the trick for me. I also learned that you can use the angle
curve in the side view to create an extruded quilt that extends through
the part on both sides and ends.

Most importantly, I learned what they are actually asking for when ProE
prompts for the reference direction. It should be the same direction as
your tooling part line for pull direction.

Thanks again,
