Hi Lyle,
The functionality that you are looking for will be included in Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5.0. You'll be able to save axis points in a section file for later reuse.
Take a look at this improvement in more detail and other Sketcher enhancements here - the Wildfire 5.0 Product What's New in Part Modeling page at www.ptc.com.
Don
Consensus is that what I want to do is not possible - axis points can only
exist in solid protrusions.
Thanks to Mike & James.
Original question follows:
We're upgrading to WF3 soon, and as I was playing around with the Sketcher
Palette, I decided to try to add an axis point to the racetrack slot, so
that there would be an axis at the center.
So here's what I did:
1). Create an extrude feature
2). Insert the racetrack shape from the palette
3).Add an axis point
4). Do a Save As on the sec and store it in the palette directory
5). Exit sketcher
However, when I go to place that new sketch from the palette into a section,
the Axis Point that I had added is now simply a Point. Am I missing
something, or am I asking the impossible?
