Sheetmetal bending with fixed OD

Hi,

Creo Parametric 3.0

I need to make a cylinder with a laser cut pattern. I thought the easiest way would be to revolve the cylinder in sheet metal and then flatten/unbend. When I have the flat sheet metal, I can sketch and extrude my pattern. The only problem is that creo takes bending factors into account. When I flatten/unbend a cylinder with Ø2,4 mm, the surface I get is not the circumference length that I need. I need a cylinder with an OD of Ø2,4 mm and when flat/unbend, a surface of 7,54mm (2,4*pi). Does anyone have a solution to this?

Thanks,

Kristoffer J

I believe you want the outside surface of your cylinder not to change.  A k factor of 1 will get the desired result.

There is always more to learn in Creo.

Change your k factor to .5 which is centerline bend.

I believe the k factor is under file prepare model properties.

Perfect, thanks to both of you.

The K factor was standard .5 and when changed to 1 I got the dimension i needed.
