see pic - to clarify.

I used to use to make centerlines for slotted holes. axis point?

Wayne,

Sketch, Feature Tools is grayed out except for certain commands (Thicken and Blend functions are the most common ones I used to run into) in WF 5 - here's what should be displayed:

Not sure if this helps or not. For the vast majority of features types it was always grayed out

In WF5, the old "axis point" is now called a geometry point. I think it's grouped on the toolbar with a regular sketch point.

It will make an axis in an extruded feature and a datum point in a plain sketch.

The first point symbol makes a point in sketch. I assume the second is
the one I want. Its greyed out. see attached.

I got point tool to work on solid and on new sheet metal. I am assuming
that it won't work on older files???

I just got this to work on an older file. I'm loosing it at this point
(get it?) I will have to spend some time experimenting. Thanks all!

Easy Solution? Maybe you could model the revolved feature as a revolved feature. Then the axis is locked in.

Yes. In Creo Parametric 2 it looks like a point. There is no other point on the sketch menu - that I am aware of.

There seems to be something "wrong" with the design intent here. IF you are creating a hole there should already be an axis. IF you are creating a cylindrical surface, yxiou would need to use the Geometry Point to create an axis.

I am creating an oblong slot. I think problem solved. Thanks.

I think that I could get it to work. IF you have to, you can create an axis in the part. There are several "workarounds" for this type of problem.

Wayne-O,

Yes, I am pretty sure that would be a relatively easy axis to create. Good Luck!
