Spring loaded pin

Hola gurus,

I have a spring-loaded pin with a slot perpendicular to its axis, in which a dog fits that holds the pin in place. When the dog is removed, the pin is released and moves to the bottom of its bore. What is the best way to handle this connection? As a cam? Or is there something else?

TIA

Buenos Dias Peter,

If I am picturing the mechanism correctly I think cam is the right choice.
However,

it sounds as if you will need to check the "enable liftoff" option within
the cam

so that the pin is not "glued" to the dog.

If I am way off base here just post a picture or the model geometry.

Hope this helps,

Steve
