TAPE/DRAFT

Hello,

Who would like to help me?

Please let me know how to create the model

using Creo/Direct modeling.

Please let me know to align the two edges at parting

line, when the height is different for taper/draft on each side.

For simplicity, I have shown the shape in round. The shape

may be different. In Pro/E I can do that using draft feature with

split option with dependant. Please help help------------------------

Thanks.

Gautam Vora.

Any help from PTC Creo/Direct modelling technical support will be highly appreciated

Dear customer,

you may use the CHAMFER Functionality to achieve this. This enables you to define the Chamfer in various ways. (Distance or Distance/Distance or Distance Angle). In the example from you this could be the fastest and easiest approach. I added a picture of a combination of simple surfaces (plane, cylinder and bspline at the end.) It also enables you to may modify the values later on.

You can define a parting line by imprinting an edge onto your part where you want your parting line.

This will split your existing face into two separate faces. You can then use the taper function to add taper in each direction.

Use the point and direction option to select the draft plane and pull direction.
