family table for equation

I?m creating a model for a coiled spring pin, and would like to turn it into a family table. I start with a spiral datum curve created by equation, then sweep a profile along the curve to create the coiled spring.

I?d like the family table to be able to adjust the spiral curve, along with the wall thickness of the swept profile, but cannot figure out how to control the equation in the family table.

If I add the curve and edit it at the instance level for the next larger size pin, it also changes at the generic.

Is there some way to write the equation so it calls values from parameters instead of typing in the numbers?

The equation is:

r = .016+t*(.031-.016)

theta = t*360*2

z = 0

and I need to have the numbers .016 and .031 vary for the different instances.
