lifting analysis in creo simulate?

Hello.

How to set up lifting analysis in simulate?

We are struggling to perform analyses of lifting operations with multiple loads and/or constraints.
When lifting an object using for example 2-part sling with lifting lugs, constraining and degrees of freedom is a problem.

I know that other simulation software's has the ability to apply remote constraints, where the idea is to remote constrain the lifting lugs to a central point.

Do anybody have experience using Creo Simulate with lifting operations?

Is there a smart solution to this problem?

what kind of constraining is used for lifting operations?

I've done a few, and the issue users typically run into is that the constraints associated with a lift lug and cable allow rigid body motion. There's several ways you can go about this:

  1. You can create something called a kinematic constraint using an Advanced Rigid Link and a point constraint.
  2. You can use a beam or spring element with either a rigid link or weighted link.
  3. You can apply a cylindrical constraint.

The tricky bit is that an accurate representation of the interface between the lug and cable allows for rigid body motion. However, we can stabilize the model using very weak ground springs.

Could you provide me with more information regarding the setup of your system (diagrams, CAD, etc)?
