pro_comm_msg.exe

Hello

Once we start Creo, we are able to observe two pro_comm_msg.exe into task manager FOR FEW SYSTEMS ONLY. Our general observation is that there should be only one pro_comm_msg.exe on startup of creo and another pro_comm_msg.exe gets started after few operations in Creo.

What could be the reason of two pro_comm_msg.exe getting started upon launching of Creo?

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Ketan

Hi,

maybe some auxiliary application is started and communicates wity Creo via second pro_comm_msg.exe

Martin Hanák

Toolkit application as auxiliary application? We do have three to four toolkit applications directly going to get start with Creo launch event.

If this is the case, all machine should have two pro_comm_msg.exe in the starting itself. Additionally, can we track anything about pro_comm_msg.exe?

Hi,

1.)

From my point of view ... Toolkit application started via protk.dat file = Creo auxiliary application.

2.)

Do following test:

Firstly start Creo without all your Toolkit application ... can you see two pro_comm_msg.exe instances in Task manager ?

Answer YES means that the problem is not related to your Toolkit application.

Answer NO means that the problem is probably related to your Toolkit application. Add your Toolkit application one by one to see what application starts second pro_comm_msg.exe instance.

Confirmed checking this. There is no issue for any of the toolkit application. Additionally, This two exe starts only on few system only. Confirmed checking two exe start up without any of the toolkit application on the system having issue.

Any further check will be of great help.

Hi,

if the problem is reproducible on specific computer, then I suggest you to open case at PTC Support and enable PTC support engineer to access the computer via webex. He can do some investigation ... maybe it helps you. Good luck.

Martin Hanák

We are under the process of renewing PTC support. Till the time we get it done, just wanted to check with users if someone has faced this issue in past.

Thank you for your suggestion and appreciate your help on this topic.
