save a view of a cut creo parametric

Hey there,

I have a step model which is only one part. I would like to cut this model and save on of the parts. I already created a cut so i can see just one part of the modell. But if i save the projekt, the modell is not cut.

Who can I save the cut view?

Thanks for anser.

Start an extrude. It is in the main tool bar.

Cut2.PNG

With assemblies, you can only do an extrude cut (you cannot add material in assemblies).

When you save the model, it is saving it as a Creo Parametric part model (.prt file). It is not saving it back to the step model.

Are you extruding a cut or just showing a section view?

Are you using Extrude to cut the model or are you just creating a cross section?

If you create an extrude cut and then save the model (as a part file or as a step file) it should save the cut.

If you are just creating a cross-section, then there is no real cut, it's only a visual.

Either we aren't understanding what you are doing or??

After you save, are you sure you are not re-opening the same original step file?

Are you saving the models to a different folder?

I think i just created a cross section.

How can i create a extrude cut of the part of the model?

Just do a normal extrude, but choose the Cut.PNG Icon to remove the material.

You can save it in the part but have it suppressed.

Or do a Save-As like the suggestion.

Just save and it will save as a PRT model.

Use File - save as - and select step as the type to re-save as a step file

in picture 1 you can see my model part. Then I addes a cut so it looks like picture 2. This part is what i want to save. If i use file save as and save it as a stept datei i looks like the first picture if if i oben ist again.
