sheetmetal

Hi all,

I am pretty green at sheetmetal. Here is a screen shot of a part I am
trying to get a flat pattern of - so we can cut it out of sheet stock and
bend it up. Normally for this type of stuff, I cheat and use "flatten
quilt". That feature understandably doesn't like the geometry I have now:

So I am doing this in sheet metal but find that the tab that I modeled
cannot be patterned.

I know that sheet metal is powerful, so I can't imagine having to model each
tab individually.

Any tips on how to model this part?

Thanks for your patience.

-Nate

The suggestion has been to make a long rib (or even create the flange in the
revolve) and pattern a cut. This has potential and is likely the way I will
go - If I can get it to un-bend properly.

The pattern feature for the "flat wall" I created is simply not available.
Maybe there is something with "un-attached flat wall"? I am not sure what
that is for.

I forgot to mention that this is WF2 ( ! )

Thanks for all your help - I will summarize more when I am done.

Nathan,

Unattached wall for sure is an alternative.
You can pattern the unattached wall and once that is done you can merge it with the main geometry
Make sure green and white side are matching

I'm not sure idf the resulting geometry will unfold

If you want me to I can send you an example of things I did recently
