Hello, if you've been involved this community, this update summarizes our work and status. If you're new, welcome, and it'll catch you up.
At recurring points, we've engaged with this community and PTC User on topics to confirm approaches and priorities. We also toured Europe last year, meeting with over 200 manufacturers to discuss sustainability business opportunities and the emerging CSRD/CSDDD regulation. We've since travelled and met with many manufacturers in the Americas, and are aiming for an Asia visit in the fall. Updates from these collaborations are summarized here for reference (with our standard disclaimer that roadmap forecasts are subject to change):
- At the portfolio level, we published Product Sustainability for Dummies, which is a free download for you. Would love your feedback on this to verify where it aligns with your needs and where additional research should be prioritized.
- Windchill released the first iteration on BOM Roll Up capability in December. We're planning to add material management and further enhancing BOM Roll Up in our June and October releases. These capabilities help with near term footprint measurement needs and set the data foundation for business-aligned footprint reduction workflows.
- Creo is also planning to enhance material management to link to Windchill's new material model later in 2025, supporting the values noted above in the Windchill section.
- Codebeamer's Design for Sustainability Requirements Template releases next week (expected March 27th). Elena will post updated details next week for you.
- ServiceMax is planning an asset hub release in June, which provides a system-of-record for physical assets. Some of you may need only a static digital product passport, but we suspect most need or prefer a passport that can also dynamically manage data post-sale. This hub can be the basis for these passports.
- For integrations, we're focusing on 2 areas. First, LCA integration. These LCA vendors require supply chain aligned BOM export API's, from which they run the LCA's/EPD's and return results/links to PLM. We expect a Makersite integration with these API's to be available by June. Second, Asset Administrative Shell is a promising new data exchange standard for passport information, both for receiving supplier information in Windchill and for exporting product information to create passports (and subsequently updating them post sale). Towards this, PTC is a member of the IDTA board that is building this standard.
