Re:- Standard Libraries Software

Re:- Standard Libraries Software

Can anyone recommend any Software that would provide a library of Standard
Electrical, Pnuematic, and (or) Hydraulic symbols to be used for import
within RS Designer?

Hi Caylian

My question would be what standards are you working with?
IEEE,IEC,ASME.....ect
AS I know it there is 2 ways you could do this. First you could import all your pro/diagram symbols into RSD.
Second you could purchase any Autcad symbol library place all the symbols onto a drawing and inport the *.DWG file into RSD.
In both cases you would need to setup your Display Catalog and then copy the relevent symbols into there.
You can then add properties to those symbols.
I spend a time trying to either beg, borrow or purchase a RSD symbol library but there is nothing out there.
Have you spoken with PTC to find out if they have anything. I got a file from them with a large number of IEC standard symbols.
Still had to setup the Display catalog with all the relevent folders ect. I will be finnished with this before the end pf this month(Electrical only). Looking to start on the piping next month depending what happens here.
I dont know if you have tried the RSD unafficial website.(www.rsdesigner.net)
This has a lot of information and helps setup RSD.

If you need help or info drop me an email.
