CREO 1 end-of service

I think something is wrong here:

The Standard support end date for all of CREO1 Parametric, Direct, Simulate are Oct 5th 2012

WHY are they coming out with M050 of all of these modules on the same date (Oct 5th 2012) ???

One last bug fixed release for those that need Creo-1?

Thank you,

More or less, Ben.

As we announced months ago<,">http://www.ptc.com/appserver/wcms/standards/freefull.jsp?&im_dbkey=139462&icg_dbkey=222>, we are abbreviating the Creo 1.0 MOR stream. Creo 1.0 M050 is the last planned MOR, and it is now available.

My question reates to the fact(?) that support will no longer be available for the CREO1 suite of software from PTC after Oct 5th, 2012. So why would you come out with a new build to fix bugs on the last day of support?

Christopher -

To be clear, when a release stream (Creo 1.0, in this case) is deemed "Maintenance Discontinued", that means that the R&D team is no longer actively developing new MORs of that release. Technical Support will always answer your questions, on any release of software that you are using, as long as you have an active Maintenance Contract. However, if you encounter a software defect in a release that is "Maintenance Discontinued", we will not be able to provide a new MOR with a fix for that issues included. Instead, it will be addressed in a future MOR of a subsequent Release (say, Creo 2.0 M040), or in the F000 build of a yet to be delivered Release (say, Creo 3.0, if the issue is a major one).

Hope that clears things up for you.
