Is there a way to capture the path of a specific point from an animation created in Creo?

I have an interconnected gear setup with arms attached to the gears.  When the gears move, the arms move at an unspecified path.  I would like to be able to find out the exact path on the unattached end of the arms, so I can create additional features, such as a groove or use the path for something else.  Does Creo have this ability or is there another software that can capture the animation and generate this path?

First you need to define/run a motion analysis. Then in Mechanism tab, under Analysis select "Trace Curve"

In the Trace Curve dialog you need to select the "Paper Part" - This is where the curve will be created

trace_curve2.jpg

Next select the point in the center of the unattached arm and the result set.

The result will be a group containing a coordinate offset datum point feature and a curve "through points".

This is exactly what I was looking for.  Thank you so much.
