Beginner questions

good day!

I started to use Vuforia Studio from this May, but I have some beginner trouble.

Could you give me any support?

Q1. About the suitable situation for recognize the thingMark by iPad and Hololens.

Now I think some factor. ThingMark size or brightness and color of surrounding, angle between Thingmark and iPad or Hololens etc..

Q2. About easy to disappear the playing data.

Moving the device when playing the AR data, the playing data disappear easily.

Is this the error of data or way to playing AR data?

Thanks

The ThingMark size should the same in the project as it is printed out. See our Help Center topic on printing ThingMarks here: http://support.ptc.com/help/vuforia/studio/en/#page/Studio_Help_Center%2FThingCodeSizing.html%23

hi @ADLengineer

Have you experienced issues with scanning ThingMarks on your devices? The ThingMark should be on a flat surface. Once scanned, there are some factors that come into play in terms of tracking. The environment around the TM should have a lot of saliency, texture, or interesting features.

Can you provide some more detail around the playing data issue? Are you referring to playing back a sequence, or viewing IoT data?

Thanks for your reply!

Sorry, I'm not sure about the detail for AR data, but my experience is single 3Dmodel made by Autodesk inventor.

This model data size is about 20MB, does data size influence the stability to play the data?

And, when I printed three TMs on a paper, playing the date become unstable.

But in the situation that two TMs are not shown, I can play the data a little easily.

Is it no good to print three TMs on a paper?

I may not answer your questions, can you check my reply?

Thanks.

Try printing a single ThingMark on a piece of paper and putting other interesting features around it - like a phone, cup, mouse, notebook, etc. This should help stabilize the 3D model.

Data size directly influences the publish, download, and load time of the model. We suggest to keep data under 20MB. Part count and polygon count of the model will affect the frame rate and animation performance.

Hi, tmccombie.

Thank you so much for your support.

I try playing AR data this week end, and when I use iPad, playing the data become easily by putting the notebooks near the TM.

And about data size, one data size is 25MB ,and other one is 16MB.

I will reduce the data size and check easily playing the data.

But by Hololens, it is still difficult to playing the data .

And I worry about influece by the TM size on a paper and 3D-model dimensions in AR data.

The 3D-model I used to making the AR data is so large, actual dimensions are about 10m x 10m.

Thanks.
