It may sound like a stupid question but I was told there is no such thing;
there are just stupid people asking questions.

Can we run simultaneously both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Pro/E WF4 or
5 out of the same license file (on server)?
Any problems with the 64-bit version of Pro that we should know before
migrating toward it?

short answer: Yes

Our facility has about 100 machines, some are 32 some are 64. I do not
know the exact percentage of each, but I would guess about 50/50. They
all run off of the same license servers. I have been working on both
platforms and have had the 64 for about two years now. They both run
fine. No issues.

In my case, I primarily use the 64 bit machine. It is much faster and I
prefer it over the 32.

The main problem regarding 64bits OS or new OS (like win 7) is about DRIVERS, drivers doesn't evolves at the same speed of OS. I had a user which had a decrease of ~40% of productivity in VISTA OS, the graphic card driver did not matched the one we've used in XP OS.

The same happens with 64-bits OS, take care of your drivers and you will be happy once 64-bit OS is much faster and can use much more RAM.

I am working in a Windows XP 64bit OS workstation running 8GB of RAM memory and I am satisfied, when I have a chance I will try Win7 in this workstation.

I have been using Win7pro 64 and WF4 since mid Sept (yes I know Win7 did not
ship until Oct, but I have MS developer account which it was released to in
August). I have not had one problem at all, for drivers and or anything. I
am on a Dell m6400 laptop with a nvidia fx2700m 8Gig ram . Pro works
flawlessly. I am on a mixed network with XP, Vista, Macs, printers and
scanners. I can connect to everything and it is fast as anything else we
have here.

For Windows System 7, which build of WF4 or WF5 are you using? Looking to be the Guinea Pig for our company switching to System 7 but don't want to mess up ProE.

For Windows 7 the only "full supported" version is WF5.0 m010 (last one BTW) but WF4.0 m11064bitsis working fine for me up till now.

Hi all,

I've been given conflicting info regarding ProE, Intralink and 32/64 bit machines.
We're running floating seats of Wildfire 2, 32 bit, off of a server.

My questions are:
Can a person with a 64 bit client machine successfully run 32 bit ProE (from the server, not a local install)?
If so, is it compatible with Intralink 3.x?
