I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.3.0
We have a J-Link Applications in which we run a simple asynchronous mode.
In one of the module, we load a part model and retrieve various part properties, in particular the Mass Properties.
Everything ran smoothly up to Creo Parametric 5, but version 9, we are getting an "pfcExceptions.XToolkitGeneralError" when trying to read the Mass properties from the model.
We could retrieve the Mass properties from the same model using Creo 3 and Creo 5.
We have verified the following troubleshoot guidelines according to the documantation:
- Make sure the environment variable PRO_COMM_MSG_EXE is set to full path to pro_comm_msg, including file name, including .exe on Windows.
- Make sure the environment variable PRO_DIRECTORY is set to Creo Parametric installation directory.
- Make sure name service () is running.
Please let us know if any other information is required from our side.
Best Regards
Here are the errors that I faced:
pfcExceptions.XToolkitGeneralError
Hi,
please ask PTC Support.
Above sounds a serious unhandled error which needs further investigation on the code and a re-compilation using up-to-date Toolkit libraries of Creo
But I fear one cannot file a support case on OTK Java Free (J-Link), because Technical Support is not free.
However, a Toolkit solution might work with some Creo releases, and might need update due to deprecated and superseding API, for example in this case where you go from Creo 5 to 9 in one big step.
For example, remind Multibody Support which was introduced in Creo 7, with impact on many API, getting deprecated.
So the issue you face can be due to multiple root causes and needs a developer to debug and code.
Additional, a friendly reminder:
Any Toolkit case needs the Toolkit developer herself/himself to file the case to Technical Support
Toolkit support to end user is not provided.
Toolkit support with lacking the source code is not provided.
Thank you for understanding, Michael, Technical Support
