Batch Script Percentage Complete

Hello Admin's,

Just wanted to check and see if anyone has any ideas on how to show the
progress of a batch script by using Percentage Complete.

I automate the installation of Pro/Engineer and Structure with a batch
script. During the process, you can see the DOS window with a million
lines going through the process of copying files across the network. I
like this, because I know it's running. Is there a way to replace this
with a Percent Complete and make it look like a normal installation
process. I still want to see it in the DOS window, but with percent
complete and not millions of lines.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Damián,

the DOS copy/xcopy commands can't do this.

Robocopy (Windows resource kit=free) can tell you the percentage complete of each individual file, but not the entire job...

XXcopy is a dos utility (not free) that is similar to robocopy and has exactly what you need... a total and by-file progress bar that is displayed in addition to the dos box.

xxcopy p:\proe2001 c:\proe2001 /s /pb
/s = recursive
/pb = show progress bar

They have a free version, but it has some limitations
