Batch file compare

I would like to edit our iLink batch startup command to replace a file on
all the clients.

What do I add to a batchfile to know if it has already done the replace?

RE: [proesys] - Batch file compare

Vaughn,

Here is how I accomplish the same thing for our I-DEAS installations, and
a few other things.

Right at the top of the installation script, include something like this:

rem
rem check to see whether this install script has already been run.
rem
if exist c:\eds\i-deas10\installed.txt goto EXITNOW
rem
--- more batch commands follow…

Then, down at the end of the installation script, include this:

rem write out a small file indicating the date & time of this installation
rem
echo "I-deas 10-M3 installation complete." >
c:\eds\i-deas10\id10_installed.txt
date /t >> c:\eds\i-deas10\id10_installed.txt
time /t >> c:\eds\i-deas10\id10_installed.txt
rem
:EXITNOW
echo.
echo I-Deas 10 is already set up on this machine.
echo.

The latter part writes out a small file when complete. When the script is
run again, it simply bails out right at the top. If I really want to
re-install on the machine, I just delete the “trigger” file.

Hope this helps.

WF2 and IE7

Hello system managers,

Our IT department wants to roll out IE7.

I know from the past that there were some problems

with respect to run Pro/E in combination with IE7.

We are using at this moment WF2 build M160.

Do I have to expect any problems?

Upgrade to a certain build or version?

I have checked already the PTC knowledge base, but I can not find a
direct answer.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

With kind regards, Met vriendelijke groeten,
