Black screen after rendering

Black screen after rendering

Has anyone seen the issue where rendering produces a completely black screen (it doesn't actually render at all, it simply turns black)? It doesn't always do it. Sometimes the result renders OK and then I'll change a decal (or some other detail) and the next time the render fails very quickly and gives a black screen. It is almost like the rendering engine has crashed however I have no idea how to restart it (all subsequent renders give a black result). Also I'm not sure what change is causing it to crash.

Thanks,

Sam

Hi,

I had this problem and eventually found if I took down the screen resolution
it worked. Normally I run at 2560x1600 @ 1920x1200 it would render it ok.

Best regards

Stephen

All,

Just a quick note to say that I was speaking with an ex-PLM from PTC the other day and he informed me that there is a known SPR with rendering which causes the screen to go black and for all subsequent attempts to render to fail. It has been around for some time (he couldn’t recall when it first occurred) and he didn’t think it was fixed yet (even in Wildfire 4.0).

All the time or just when rendering?

What graphics card are you using?

The screen goes black after I press the render window button, but this only happens if I render in natural screen resolution (1440p) if I set the screen resolution to 1080p the image is rendered.

I am using a Quardo K2200

Sorry for bringing up this old Thread but we're currently facing the same Problem on Creo 4.0 M60.

Is this fixed in a newer Version of Creo 4?

We're currently using Nvidia Quadro P4000 with newest Nvidia Drivers.

This error occures on most Machines with Display Resolution higher than full HD 1920x1080

The "newest" Nvidia Drivers --- are they the "newest" (approved PTC) Nvidia Drivers? If you are newer than the newest approved, this may be the issue.

Our Vendor asked us to install the latest Nvidia Driver wich is 431.02. We also have this issue on 411.95 and 418.81. Whats the best source to see wich is the latest driver PTC testet?

You could try this to see if it is a graphics driver issue:
